Week 3 Review
Week 3 Review
(FRI 8:00) Arizona (+8) @ Kansas State, Bet Rivers “Aug Dog of the Week”
Arizona 7 @ Kansas State 31, LOSS
First, I made a typo when writing this game preview. I put -8 originally when I meant +8. Regardless, this was an awful bet. Arizona scored on their first possession of the game, a scripted drive, and didn’t score the rest of the game. Meanwhile Kansas State’s QB Avery Johnson ran all over the Arizona defense. This game was so frustrating to watch, Arizona couldn’t run the ball worth a damn and couldn’t stop it either. Arizona WR Tet McMillian had a big day, but it was all between the 20’s. This game proved it is no easy task leading a high-flying attack into Manhattan. We left the bar fight with our asses kicked. Hopefully the Aug Dog can get back on the winning side next week.
(SAT 12:00) LSU @ South Carolina (under 50.5), Fan Duel
LSU 36 @ South Carolina 33 (total 69), LOSS
This was an awful pick. The rain never came, but the Gamecock’s offense came, and it came hard. South Carolina’s Defense even had 2 pick-sixes called back. Unfortunately for the Cocks they couldn’t pull off the upset, I feel like I’ve heard that before in my personal life…. Anyways thankfully for LSU players and staff they pulled off the win, so now they won’t have to worry about their coach sending them up a cherry picker in a windstorm.
(SAT 3:30) Utah @ Utah State (under 44),Fan Duel
Utah 38 @ Utah State 21 (total 59), LOSS
Another bad pick. Cam Rising didn’t play, but Isaac Wilson did, and he was out there slinging in it like there were some MILFs waiting for him after the game. Utah let Utah State hang around all game and then pulled away at the end. I didn’t expect Utah’s offense to play so well or their defense to give up so much to a much inferior opponent. Live and learn. Utah seems to be a different team on the road and at home.
(SAT 3:30) Washington State @ Washington (-4.5), Fan Duel
Washington State 24 @ Washington 19, LOSS
This wasn’t as bad as other picks, but still wouldn’t pick it again. Washington State’s defense held up at the end of the game and stopped Washington on a goal line stand late in the fourth. Washington State’s QB Mateer is a baller. He had 3 total touchdowns this game and helped lead his team to an Apple Cup victory. Rivalry games are tricky.
(SAT 4:00) App State (-2.5) @ ECU, Draft Kings
App State 21 @ ECU 19, LOSS
This one stings the most, I think we were on the right side of this one. Some of you may have had the -1.5 that was there at kickoff. I unfortunately had App State -2.5. A field goal in the fourth by ECU to cut the lead from 5 killed me. App State went down 16 in the first half due to some turnovers and bad play. They dug themselves out of the hole and were covering until a 4th quarter field goal cost some of us the cover. Tough beat on an already tough day.
(SAT 7:30) Colorado (-7.5) @ Colorado State, Draft Kings
Colorado 28 @ Colorado State 7, WIN
This game went about how we thought it would. Colorado and Sheduer Sanders lit up Colorado state. He threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Travis hunter had a touchdown and an interception. It was expected against an inferior opponent. Good win which was much needed. The only question is why Deion kept his playmakers in late up a bunch? Deion could be helping Heisman chances for players, maybe something to think about if they TRY to run up scores.
(SAT 7:30) Indiana (-2.5) @ UCLA, Bet Rivers
Indiana 41 @ UCLA 17, WIN
Another no-sweat winner. It was nice to have this win, and the Colorado win late at night after a brutal day. Indiana went out to LA and spanked UCLA. HC Curt Cignetti was just too much for a new coach like Deshawn Foster to compete with. Indiana QB Curtis Rourke looked good too, throwing for over 300 yards and 4 TD’s. Indiana’s defense deserves some credit too, only allowing UCLA 238 total yards.
(SAT 3:30) WVU @ PITT (over 61), Fan Duel
WVU 34 @ PITT 38 (total 72), WIN
This Backyard Brawl was a great one! High scoring just like we thought it would be. Pittsburgh’s QB Holstein was throwing it all over the field on WVU. He threw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. Pitt is playing at such a high tempo that they are on over watch. West Virginia had the game, but Pitt came back down by 10 late in the game. Yinzers everywhere finally happy to see touchdowns in the city of Pittsburgh.
(SAT 12:00) Memphis @ Florida State (-6.5), Fanduel
Memphis 20 @ Florida State 12, LOSS
Mouse Trapped!!!! Florida State is broken and so is my tiny brain. They can’t throw, catch, or tackle. DJ U…. More like DJ PEW YEW. Florida State can’t throw the ball on a swing pass let alone downfield. Then the 1 time this knuckle head hits his fucking wide receivers they drop the ball like me when was 5 and afraid of it. I thought this would be the week that they could get a cover, but these fucking idiots can’t even get an outright win!! This is a lifeless team right now on quit watch. Mike Norvell can’t get anything out of this talent. He might be nothing without Jordan Travis. Maybe ex FLA HC Billy Napier can help him find a job at Waffle House or something when he applies this week.
