Week 1 Review
Week 1 Review
8/28 (THU 8:00) UNC @ Minnesota (UNDER 50.5) Fan Duel
At the end of the first quarter the game was tied 0-0, Minnesota missed a couple field goals which helped as well. UNC lost QB Johnson which brought in the backup, then UNC started running the ball more. UNC won this game because they had a kicker that could hit field goals, while Minnesota missed a game winner.
FINAL: UNC 19 Minnesota 17 Total 36 WIN
8/25 (THU 8:00) Southeast Louisiana @ Tulane (-25.5) Fan Duel
Like I said, Bobby Boucher didn’t walk through that door. Pure Ass Kicking by Tulane.
FINAL: SEL 0 @ Tulane 52 WIN
6/5 (FRI 7:00) Temple @ Oklahoma (-39.5) Draft Kings
Oklahoma forced 6 turnovers in the game, they were by far the better stronger and more dominant team. Sooners absolutely dusted Temple. Never really a doubt.
FINAL: Temple 3 @ Oklahoma 51 WIN
8/30 (FRI 9:00) Western Michigan(+24) @ Wisconsin Draft Kings
WMU had Wisconsin on the ropes in this game. It was a 3-point game at the half and only 6 points entering the fourth. Wisconsin hung on for a close win. WMU looked good, might be a MAC contender.
FINAL: WMU 14 @ Wisconsin 28 WIN
8/28 (SAT 12:00) Penn State (-8.5) @ WVU Draft Kings
SOOOOOOOO everyone was on the Mountaineers huh??? Not me, when everyone Zigs, I Zag. This game smelt bad all summer. PSU walked into Morgantown and showed everyone who the superior Appalachia Hill Billy is. The debate is over and both fanbases can crawl back to their caves (literally) and think about their sister.
FINAL: PSU 34 @ WVU 12 WIN
8/29 (3:30 SAT) Miami @ Florida (UNDER 54.5) Fan Duel
This one stung a little bit, Florida was as trash as expected but I did not expect Miami or specifically Cam Ward to ball like he did, 385 yards and 3 TD’s. Billy Napier will be looking for a job next season, possibly even before this season is over. Also, if I was a current D1 football player my eligibility would be similar to Cam McCormick’s.
FINAL: Miami 41 @ Florida 17 Total 58 LOSS

8/27 (SAT 3:30) Miami Ohio @ Northwestern (-2.5) Draft Kings
This was a pure sicko pick, Miami Oh probably should have won this game, but you just don’t walk into a soccer practice facility, in Chicago, on Lake Michigan, against the vaunted Northwestern Wildcats and expect to win right? Well, every other team should expect it to, just not a MAC team. Also, might be looking to play more NW home unders as the season goes on.
FINAL Miami OH 6 @ Northwestern 13 WIN

8/29 (SAT 7:30) Notre Dame @ Texas A&M (UNDER 46.5) Fan Duel
This game went to the script for the most part. Low scoring game, tied at 6 at the half. The under looked like it was going to hit all game and it was nice to watch this game (mostly) sweat free. First game of the year I know, but Mike Elko looks like an unathletic doofus. The game was decided when he walked out of the tunnel. Riley Leonard was the more serviceable QB on the field and that was a big difference in the game. Credit to Notre Dame HC Marcus Freeman as well for coaching a great game, he had his team prepared. In year past it feels like Notre Dame would of lost this game.
FINAL: Notre Dame 23 @ TX A&M 13 Total 36 WIN
8/27 (SAT 8:00) James Madison (-7.5) @ Charlotte Fan Duel
Another sicko pick, there are a lot of players missing for charlotte and had to hammer JMU. The game started slowly but JMU picked it up in the second half and comfortably covered the spread.
FINAL: JMU 30 @ Charlotte 7 WIN
8/20 (SUN 7:30) LSU @ USC (OVER 63.5) Fan Duel
This one was flat wrong, but what do you expect relying on Brian Kelly looking out for the best interests of young adults (Brian Kelly killed a kid as HC at Notre Dame). I was very impressed with USC’s defense. They played well and looked the part. QB Miller Moss had some nice throws as well. Riley Leonard got a lot of hate the last couple years with the flee to USC, but this was a statement game for them, and may have helped launch their playoff campaign. One very good thing to come from this game was Brian Kelly being a whiney bitch during his press conference.
FINAL: LSU 20 v USC 27 total 47 LOSS
