Week 0 2025

8/23 (12:00) Iowa State v. Kansas State OVER 49.5

Cesars, 1 Unit to win 1.9 Units

The first game of the year is in Dublin, Ireland. Usually, we get Notre Dame in this matchup, but this year.... it's Farmageddon! A Big 12 rivalry game all the way across the pond. I personally hate this for the fans of each team, losing a key home game against a rival or trip to rival's stadium hurts. However, that will not affect me and my bets on this game. I am on the over because of a combination of two factors for both teams. Each team is led by a veteran Quarterback, Iowa St's Rocco Becht and K St's Avery Johnson, and both teams had an improved defense on paper, but both still have questions in one level of the defense, the secondary. I feel that both QB's and offenses should be able to put up enough points to get to the over. I feel it will be a close game as well, so that could help us in the 4th quarter.

Iowa State 24 v Kansas State 21, Total 45

This game SHOULD have went Over, Iowa State had a touchdown called back at the .5 yard line because the runner's forearm was down. So instead of punching it in, Matt Campbell decides to kneel it and run the clock out. It sounded like Avery Johnson's family was just as upset in the parking lot. (pictured below)

8/23 (7:00) Sam Houston State @ Western Kentucky OVER 60.5

Bet MGM, 1 Unit to win 1.9 Units

Another conference matchup to start the season, but this time it's in the Conference USA (C-USA). Sam Houston St brings in offensive guru Phil Longo as its new Head Coach. He will be able to put up points with the players he has returning on that side of the ball, the problem is that on defense he has 0 returning starters. They will be a team to watch in over situations all year. Western Kentucky brings in a Quarterback/Offensive Coordinator duo with a lot of hype. QB Maverick McIvor and OC Rick Bowie come from Abilene Christian and should bring some of their chemistry to a usually high-flying offense for the Hill-Toppers. Defense will be a problem for this team this year, as WKU has lost 9 starters on defense. With all that said, I'm on the over.

Sam Houston State 24 @ WKU 41, Total 65

This one was a bit easier. Sam Houston jumped out to an early lead, but the McIvor faithful waited for the QB to show us the hype, and he did. WKU still has some work on defense, but overall, a sound win.

Week 0 Record: 1-1 -0.1 Units
