Bowl Season Review

DEC. 14th Salute to Service Bowl

South Alabama(-8.5) v. Western Michigan, Bet MGM

South Alabama 30 v. Western Michigan 23, LOSS

Lesson learned here, never bet another game on the same day of the Army/Navy game.

DEC. 17th Frisco Bowl

Memphis (-2.5) v. West Virginia, FanDuel

Memphis 42 v. West Virginia 37, WIN

Rich Rod ain't there yet!

DEC. 18th Boca Raton Bowl

Western Kentucky v. James Madison (-7.5), Bet Rivers

Western Kentucky 17 v. James Madison 27, WIN

JMU has been a great team all year. HC Bob Chesney has done a great job there in year one.

DEC.19th New Orleans Bowl

Georgia Southern (-6) v. Sam Houston State, Draft Kings

Georgia Southern 26 v. Sam Houston State 31, LOSS

Bad Pick, Sam Houston came to play. Georgia Southern has been frauds all year, should have known.

DEC. 20th Gasparilla Bowl

Tulane v. Florida (-11.5), FanDuel

Tulane 8 v. Florida 33, WIN

Tulane had too many opt-outs and transfers to compete with Florida here.

DEC. 20th CFB 1st round playoffs

Indiana @ Notre Dame (total 51.5) UNDER, FanDuel

Indiana 17 @ Notre Dame 27, (total 44) WIN

Game went about to script as I thought. Notre Dame controlled the game, and it was a low scoring affair.

DEC. 21st CFB 1st round playoffs

SMU @ Penn State (-8.5), Fan Duel

SMU 10 @ Penn State 38, WIN

Welcome to the North boys!! PSU overwhelmed SMU in a frigid cold game.

DEC. 21st CFB 1st round playoffs

Clemson (+12) @ Texas, Draft Kings

Clemson 24 @ Texas 38, LOSS

Texas should have buried these guys, but also Clemson had a chance to make it close and cover but blew it.

DEC. 21st CFB 1st round playoffs

1) Tennessee @ Ohio State (total 46.5) UNDER, FanDuel

2) Tennessee (+7.5) @ Ohio State, FanDuel

Tennessee 17 @ Ohio State 42 (total 59), LOSS 2x

Hand Up, I can't pick Ohio State games for the life of me. So I'm making 2 picks in their next game.

DEC. 23rd Myrtle Beach Bowl

Coastal Carolina v. UTSA (-12.5), FanDuel

Coastal Carolina 15 v. UTSA 44, WIN

C.C. was down to no one on the roster. UTSA treated the game seriously and it showed.

DEC. 27th Armed Forces Bowl

Oklahoma v. Navy (+2.5), FanDuel

Oklahoma 20 v Navy 21, WIN

It was for the troops, QB Blake Horvath's game continued to look great after the Army/Navy game.

DEC. 27th Birmingham Bowl

Georgia Tech v. Vanderbilt (total 51) OVER, Draft Kings

Georgia Tech 27 v. Vanderbilt 35, WIN

Diego, Deigo!!!

DEC. 27th Liberty Bowl

Texas Tech (+2.5) v. Arkansas, FanDuel

Texas Tech 26 v Arkansas 39, LOSS

Arkansas came to play give them credit with the lack of scholarship players on the roster. I liked the over and should of went with that.

DEC. 28th Military Bowl

East Carolina v. NC State (-6), Draft Kings

ECU 26 v. NC State 21, LOSS

ECU kicked NC State's ass, and not just in the fight at the end of the game. Bad Pick.

DEC.28th Pop-Tarts Bowl

Iowa State v. Miami (-3.5), Draft Kings

Iowa State 42 v. Miami 41, LOSS

Cam Ward stopped playing at halftime, was going to be tough to cover after that and it was.

DEC. 28th Alamo Bowl

BYU v. Colorado (-2.5), Draft Kings

BYU 36 v. Colorado 14, LOSS

Deion did not prepare his team for this one at all. Travis Hunter did not look like a Heisman winner in this game. Bad pick.

Dec. 30th Music City Bowl

Missouri v. Iowa (total 40) OVER, Bet Rivers

Missouri 27 v. Iowa 24 (total 51), WIN

Great game, I thought it would be a back-and-forth type of game. At halftime we were sitting pretty. Rocking Chair.

Dec. 31 Reliaquest Bowl

Alabama (-12.5) v. Michigan, Bet Rivers

Alabama 13 v. Michigan 19, LOSS

Jalen Milroe and Alabama didn't show up for this one at all. Turnovers killed Alabama and consistently set up Michigan in opponents' territory. Bad Pick.

Jan. 1st CFP Round 2

1) Ohio State v. Oregon (total 55) OVER, Draft Kings

2) Ohio State v. Oregon (+2.5), Bet MGM

Ohio State 41 v. Oregon 21 (total 62), Loss on Spread, Win on Total

I'm starting to finally get these Buckeyes sort of right, but not really. I knew they would come out hot, but I thought Oregon would be able to hang with them for the whole game and possibly a late game score would dictate the outcome. Wrong. Ohio State is firing on all cylinders right now.

Jan. 3rd Mayo Bowl

Minnesota v. Virgina Tech (total 42.5) OVER, Draft Kings

Minnesota 24 v. Virginia Tech 10 (total 34) LOSS

QB Kyle Drones ended up being out for VA Tech, which hurt any chance they had at scoring points. Regardless it was 21-10 at half and we got 3 points all second half. That was due to some long drives by Minnesota. Of course, if Drones plays id still have played it but he didn't so I should have waited, I was just trying to get a low number.

Jan. 6 FCS Championship

North Dakota State v. Montana State (-3), Draft Kings

North Dakota 35 v. Montana State 32, LOSS

NDST QB Cam Miller was a dog in this game. He couldn't be stopped. Montana State could not stop him in the first half at all. The final play of the game was weird as well. Montana State had no one field a punt and sold out for a block which let NDST players hover on the ball as the last seconds ticked away.

Jan. 9th CFB Semi-Finals Orange Bowl

Notre Dame v. Penn State (total 45.5) UNDER, Bet MGM

Notre Dame 27 v. Penn State 24 (total 51), LOSS

I had this game picked right. 10-3 at half and 10-10 to start the 4th quarter. Then all of a sudden both teams felt like they can score touchdowns with ease. It wasn't helpful either that Notre Dame had 2 interceptions in the endzone called back. Sloppy game that in the end somehow hit the over.

Jan. 10th CFB Semi-Finals Cotton Bowl

Texas v. Ohio State(-5.5), Fan Duel

Texas 14 v. Ohio State 28, WIN

Ohio State was just too much to handle for Texas. The difference in the game was Ohio State's RBs. Judkins and Henderson killed Texas with their explosives.

Jan. 20th CFB Championship

Notre Dame v. Ohio State (total 45.5) OVER, 2 Units Fan Duel

Notre Dame 23 v. Ohio State 34 (total 57), WIN

The game went about expected. Ohio State handled Notre Dame pretty much from start to finish. Notre Dame made it an 8-point game late in the 4th, but even then, it felt like the Buckeyes still had the game in hand. Congrats Ohio State and Buckeye fans, onto Spring-practice.
